β-1,3/1,6-D-glucan is a natural fully purified polysaccharide isolated from the cell walls of the yeast Sacharomyces cerevisiae. Betaglucan strongly stimulates the immune system by activating lymphocyte macrophages and neutrophils. Macrophages play an essential role in anti-infective immunity in removing abnormal or dead cells and foreign substances from the body.
Betaglucan enhances the effects of antibiotics, antifungal and antiparasitic preparations. It accelerates tissue regeneration processes, has anticancer properties and is an antioxidant - it neutralises free radicals.
