The food can be fed to adult dogs to regulate glucose supply (Diabetes mellitus). The food is low in energy to help reduce excessive body weight. To compensate for the limited daily energy intake, the level of nutrients (except fat) has been appropriately increased to suit the animal's needs. The feed contains low levels of mono- and disaccharides.
