Guinea pigs often suffer from dental problems. Thanks to the addition of special unground long fibres with a high silicate content to the Cavia Complete pellets, the food requires the increased chewing activity necessary to abrade the teeth and ensure their health. The extrusion process allows fresh vegetables to be added to the pellets. The food contains at least 10 % fresh vegetables, which makes it taste great. In addition, the fibres and suitable texture of Cavia Complete food make it highly digestible for guinea pigs. The extruded pellets are low in calories. Supplementing the Complete feed with essential vitamins supports overall health. Vitamin A is important for skin cell renewal, vision, reproduction and metabolism. Vitamin D3 stimulates calcium/phosphorus uptake and thus supports bones. Vitamins E and C are important antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. Both vitamins also support the body's natural immunity. Guinea pigs cannot produce vitamin C themselves. Therefore, it is important for them to include this vitamin in their food. All other Complete foods are also enriched with stabilised vitamin C. In contrast to the crystalline form, stabilised vitamin C is much less prone to oxidation and biodegradation, so it remains active for longer.

Dosage

Depending on the size, breed and age of the domestic caviar, the recommended average daily dosage is 35-50g.

Additional information

All Complete feeds contain yucca extract. It binds ammonia and other components responsible for faecal odours. In this way, unpleasant odours are significantly reduced.

The addition of natural plant pigments, lutein and β-carotene, has a positive effect on overall immunity and health. On the one hand, these carotenoids are known as potent biological antioxidants.
