POLISEPT VET First Aid Kit contains: Polisept Vet Spray 100 ml spray for disinfecting all types of wounds and Polisept Vet Wound Gel 30 ml active dressing in the form of hydrocolide gel for use on wounds.

The preparations effectively accelerate and improve the healing process of all cuts. The kit removes biological contaminants, combats bacterial infections and inhibits the growth of bacterial biofilm and prevents scar formation.

JM SANTE Polisept Vet First Aid Kit - Directions for use

Polisept Vet Spray:

• Apply the preparation to the wound and surrounding tissues directly from the packet by pressing the applicator several times (as needed). In case of bitten wounds, ensure drainage. Repeat several times a day (2-4 times) depending on the condition of the wound. For daily wound hygiene and care of surgical wounds and sutures, apply directly to the wound. Repeat several times a day. For wounds showing signs of severe infection and inflammation, moist dressings in the form of moistened compresses can be used.
• Use of moistened compresses. Cover the wound with a moistened compress, press gently and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. This method is particularly recommended in the management of chronic, infected wounds for effective removal of bacterial biofilm.
• Removal of dried dressings. Thoroughly moisten the dried dressing with warmed (to room temperature) Polisept Vet Spray, wait until the dressing can be gently removed without damaging the wound (usually the dressing can be removed after a few minutes).
• The manufacturer does not limit the age of the animal.

Wound Gel:

• Prior to application of the gel, it is recommended that the wound should be thoroughly cleansed and decontaminated with Polisept Vet Wound Irrigant (depending on the type and condition of the wound) or, if necessary, the wound should be surgically irrigated.
• Removal of mechanical and biological contamination and decontamination of the wound, including removal of bacterial biofilm, creates optimal conditions for further treatment. When rinsing lacerated wounds, bite wounds, dab wounds or pockets, ensure fluid drainage. Apply the gel to dried wounds. In case of severe wound infection, use a suitable antiseptic.
• Gel application:
• Squeeze the gel from the tube and apply a thin layer (3-5 mm) directly onto the wound.
• The gel can also be applied to the wound with a sterile spatula.
• In the case of deep wounds, fill the wound up to 2/3 of its depth with gel so that it does not protrude above the surface of the skin surrounding the wound.
• Cover the wound with a secondary dressing (if the gel is changed daily in the wound, the secondary dressing can be dispensed with, provided, however, that the wound is protected from licking by animals).
• Secondary dressings.
• All types of secondary dressings can be used. Gauze, compresses or other easily absorbable dressing materials should also be soaked in the preparation.
• The manufacturer does not limit the age of the animal.
