Dolomite substrate is one of the most frequently chosen substrates for tanks stocked with species requiring hard water with a high pH value for their existence. Dolomite substrate is completely natural and is very popular among buyers. However, it cannot be used everywhere. Dolomite contains a very high proportion of calcium, which completely changes the water characteristics and properties. It can therefore only be used in certain aquaria with selected fish species that require alkaline and hard water for their growth. It cannot be used in planted aquaria.

Additional information
Among others, species from lakes Malawi, Tanganyika and Victoria will perform excellently. In such tanks, this type of substrate stabilises the water parameters and improves the vitality of the water. Dolomite grit manufactured by Aquael is also characterised by excellent purity - no impurities hazardous to the health and life of fish can be found in its content. Before use, simply rinse the substrate under running water to remove any suspended matter.
