Additional information
Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii is naturally resistant to antibiotics, with the exception of certain quinolones and antifungal drugs. These yeasts are not digested in the gastrointestinal tract.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. boulardii produces a protease that inactivates the toxin A produced by Clostridium difficile.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus – through the production of lactic acid, it lowers the pH in the intestines, thereby inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. The ability of Lactobacillus rhamnosus to inhibit the colonization of the gastrointestinal tract by Clostridium perfringens in dogs reaches 80%. Lactobacillus rhamnosus metabolites stimulate both local and general immunity. After enriching the diet with the above strain of microorganisms, higher sensitivity of cell receptors to insulin and more effective weight loss were observed, which indicates the possibility of using Lactobacillus rhamnosus in the weight loss process. In addition, individuals receiving Lactobacillus rhamnosus in their diet showed higher concentrations of GABA, a neurotransmitter that alleviates mood disorders and reduces anxiety levels.
